Make an International Difference

We invite you to share your experience with sex and love addiction and your understanding of S.L.A.A. recovery with others worldwide. Any sex and love addict in recovery can contribute their writing or visual art to the Journal.

It's easy. You can upload your creative contribution via www.theSLAAJournal.org or email it to us using the email address below. We accept all common file types. If you cannot type or do not have access to a computer, perhaps someone you know can help you.

Before sending a creative contribution to us, you must read the Creative Guidelines, the Journal Privacy Policy, and the Terms and Conditions below.

Creative Contribution Guidelines

We ask that you include your phone number with your creative contribution, so we can reach you to resolve any ambiguity in meaning. We also request that you include your general location or zip code so we can try to achieve geographical balance in our content. Please also include your name as the author. You may use a pseudonym or pen name for additional anonymity. You can, if you wish, include your last name with your creative contribution, but if your piece is published, we will replace it with your last initial for the purpose of anonymity at the level of public media.

Photographers and other visual artist are asked to contribute visual art as a high-resolution image so that it can be reproduced in the Journal in detail.

Writers are asked to avoid commenting on issues unrelated to recovery from sex and love addiction or engaging in public controversy. It is often best to maintain focus on personal experience. Writings with an appropriate tone for publication in the Journal will proclaim what is good and useful rather than what is wrong or improper. The positive tone will assist readers in the development of a positive outlook toward personal growth and recovery.

Just as professional writers often rewrite their pieces several times to avoid placing the burden of correcting spelling and grammar on the editorial staff, we ask amateur writers to also read what they have written and rewrite it until their ideas are expressed clearly.

Thrift is also important. Don't say in many words what could be said in a few.

All creative contributions must include citations for any references or excerpts that legally require attribution.

We ask that writers and visual artists do not use the Journal or Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous by name as a professional reference or credential. Public disclosure of membership in S.L.A.A. is expressly discouraged by S.L.A.A.'s Traditions Eleven and Twelve.
