Privacy Policy

You have arrived at the privacy policy page of the Journal, a bimonthly publication of Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous.

The intention of this privacy policy is to set communications boundaries. We wish to respect people's sensibilities about anonymity, confidentiality, and unwanted messages while, at the same time, effectively providing useful communications.

This privacy policy recognizes the traditional right of decision and the need to trust those delegated to positions of service.  See Concept Three. Thus the policy is as brief and opened as possible.  See Tradition Nine. This privacy policy can be adjusted by the C.J.C. as needed. Either the Executive Director or the Marketing Director can adjust it too, provided that no decision by either officer countermands adopted C.J.C. policy.

  1. No notices related to the Journal shall be sent out from members of the Journal service structure to anyone who has not initiated a relationship with the Journal in some way. This can be by subscribing, submitting a creative contribution, making an inquiry, making a suggestion, or deliberately providing contact information.
  2. An opt-out list of names and email addresses shall be kept and used to exclude recipients that have requested exclusion.
  3. No notices shall be sent to any recipient unless it is reasonable to expect that the notice may be useful to the prospective recipient.
  4. The word sex and the acronym SLAA shall be avoided in outgoing emails to limit the possibility of third-party flagging of the email.
  5. An initial shall be used in place of any family name (last name in most western cultures).
  6. An unreasonable volume of messages to any one person shall be avoided at all times. Combine notices where it will reduce the frequency of correspondence is encouraged. In such cases, section headers may be useful.
  7. Recipients of bulk emails will be listed as bcc (blind carbon copy) recipients so that no recipient will have access to the contact information of any other recipient.
