Welcome Journal Reps!
You have arrived at the Journal Representatives' page of the Journal,
a bimonthly publication of Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous.
Three Simple Steps to Become a Journal Representative
- Contact the Journal Managing Editor or Outreach Coordinator using the Contact Us page so that we know who you are and can send you helpful information.
- We recommend that you become a subscriber to the Journal on-line or by mail. Not only would you be leading by example, but your recovery would benefit from the steady flow of great stories, information, and the varied perspectives of friends in recovery worldwide. (We hope to secure a budget to provide for free or subsidized subscriptions to Journal Reps that achieved effective outreach over the next few months.)
- Print some subscription sheets for your home group and intergroup, and take them with you to meetings, sharing about the benefits of experiencing the Journal at times designated for announcements, mentioning that the subscription sheets are available. If you do not have access to a printer or do not have a group or intergroup budget to offset your printing costs, we can mail you some subscription cards. If your group or intergroup is large, you may wish to make a motion at the next business meeting to offset or laser print the subscription card in larger quantities.
Two More Things that Great Journal Reps Do
- Become familiar with this web site. See the links below. This will help you know the Journal's service structure, what service positions are opened, what writers and artist who make creative contributions must know, and several other things.
- Understand that the Journal is one of the primary tools that S.L.A.A. has for doing outreach beyond the existing membership into the world of helpless sex and love addicts. It is also a primary tool for maturing the foundation of local S.L.A.A. groups. Become an active voice to help us expand our subscriber base, find sober trusted servants for the Conference Journal Committee and the Publication Team, and invite members that has a solid recovery story to tell to make creative contributions of writing and art to help build the Journal's maturity, variety, and effectiveness.
